It’s a fun-day Sunday for Cebuanos as Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream brings the food festival Merry Cremas 2105 to Cebu. Families and mall-goers were in for a big treat at the Parkmall Piazza on Sunday, December 6, for a day of fun-filled activities. The event also featured eight food small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) who showcased their respective special holiday and everyday dishes made creamier by Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream, which they also shared to the public for food tasting.
From a personal perspective, the Parkmall Piazza became an instant food, cooking and entertainment haven for a day. Bottomless plates of creamy home-made goodies were offered to the guests and participants who came to the venue. I also checked out some of the food stalls and I would say that my favourites among the dishes were the buko and mango pies by RV Pies and the creamy tatertots by Mama Mae’s Catering. Unfortunately, these goodies are available in Cebu at the moment. But I’m sure that you can make one of these delicious and creamy goodies by simply adding Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream in your ingredients. And yes, I may need to take a bite or two of your finished products so I would know if you got the right mix! 🙂
While the event catered largely for mommies and food connoiseurs, children who were present at the activity centre showed their creative side by engaging themselves in a colouring activity at the Alaska Art Workshop booth. Holiday greeting cards are available at no cost, which the kids can colour to their heart’s content. They can even add a short message for their parents. Isn’t that sweet? There were also fun games for children and their moms for that crema moment.
How do you prepare delicious treats for the family and for those whose taste buds have a penchant for good dishes?
Chef Kaiser took to the centre stage for a cooking demo to the delight of everyone present, as he showed how to make the simple Malunggay pesto and chicken pasta, and Ginataang mais into creamy dishes by using Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream, that entire family can enjoy.
You will agree with me when I say that food and entertainment go perfectly well together. While the guests and participants were checking out the food stalls to have a bite of the creamy and delicious goodies, young Cebuanos making up the The Queens Dancers made sure everyone was entertained with their energetic dance performances.
One of the highlights of Merry Cremas 2015 was the Alaska Merry Crema Dish competition, which the eight food entrepreneurs participated in. Chef Kaiser Padilla headed the three-man panel of judges, who went through all the eight food booths to find out who made the best tasting palate-satisfying dish prepared with Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream. The eight participating food merchants are: K Sweet Ville, No Bake Queen, RV Pie, ERB2 Twist Food, Mandaue’s Nutritious, M Pasta House and Cakes For You.
Here are the the top three winners of Alaska Merry Crema Dish, and the corresponding cash prize they received.
First Place: Chorizo Cupcake by Cakes for You, P25,000 + Alaska gift packs
Second Place: Cheese Cake by No Bake Queen, P15,000
Third Place: Creamy Tatertots by Mama Mae’s Catering, P10,000

To cap the day’s activities, the world-renowned and award-winning Mandaue Children’s Choir serenaded the public with their repertoire of Christmas carols.
Merry Cremas 2015 was made possible by Alaska Crema All-Purpose and Sky Broadband.
