The Mythology Class: A Book Launch

The Mytholgy Class, Re-printed by Nautilus Comics

The Mytholgy Class, the award-winning book re-printed by Nautilus Comics

As young kids, we were fond of reading comics, even collecting them. But as we grow older, our liking for comics has somehow waned, as we become interested with other things. This may be true for most of us, but apparently, not for some. As it appears, comics is not only for the young kids, but also for the grown ups and those who are young at heart.

I have somehow outgrown my fondness for comics. But what I didn’t realise is that, it was just taking a back seat, until recently. One Thursday afternoon, the FullyBooked Atrium was starting to be filled with people. Apparently, I was one of the few early birds who came. One by one, the seats were filled. The only question I had in mind then was, “Who is Arnold Arre?” I was clueless of what’s going to happen that afternoon, except that as minutes went on, I felt it’s going to be a boring afternoon.

But I was totally wrong. As soon as Jamie Bautista of Nautilus Studios took the floor, my interest on comics and what it’s all about liven up within me. Together with her equally talented wife Rhea, they gave us a sneak peek of graphic novel The Mythology Class and brought the comics into life by giving voice to the characters.

Soon, the man behind the great comics The Mythology Class took the spotlight and told the backstory how the comics was conceptualised. It’s pretty interesting to know that despite all the Marvel comics in the book stands and book stores, there’s one book that stands out and weathers time. Jaime Bautista shared his Nautilus Studios had always wanted to publish the book. However, since it was previously printed by another publishing house, he stepped aside. But now, having gotten the opportunity, he didn’t have any second thoughts about re-printing the book, as he himself is a big fan of it.

As the minutes ticked, the answer to my only question unravelled. And before the afternoon halted, I got myself one of the books authored by Arnold Arre, Trip to Tagaytay. And had his authograph, too!

Grab a copy of The Mythology Class at FullyBooked, and join the exciting adventure of Nicole and her friends!

Happy reading!
