Batang Alaska School Milk Program Goes to Antique

The lack of awareness on proper nutrition among children has resulted to undernourishment, as evidenced by stunted growth and being underweight. These conditions if not addressed at an early age may lead various health related diseases later in life. However, proper intervention such as good nutrition and engaging the children to live an active lifestyle during their developmental stage can help address these conditions.

The new Alaska Fortified Powdered Milk Drink, which is a good source of Vitamin D, high in calcium and iron, and packed with protein, takes the forefront to further raise awareness on the importance of proper nutrition, as milk has always been essential for growing children to have enough and consistent nutrient intake to ensure maximum growth potential. Alaska Fortified Powdered Milk Drink combined with proper nutrition and active lifestyle will help children reach the tamang tangkad and bigat for their age.

After the successful launch of the Batang Alaska School Milk Program in Manila, Davao and Cebu, the program goes to Antique, the home province of Alaska Milk’s Nutrition Advocate Sen. Loren Legarda (my home province, too!). In her speech during thr formal launch held at Pandan Central School, Pandan, Antique, Sen. Legarda emphasised the need of proper nutrition and regular drinking of milk.

The Batang Alaska School Milk Program in Pandan Central School will provide a glass of Alaska Fortified Powdered Milk Drink to each child. The program will run for 120 days.

All elementary school students in attendance were treated to a refreshingly nutritious Alaska milk. And to wrap up the event, school children were given samples of Alaska Fortified Powdered Milk Drink.
