Take Two at the World Poker Tour National Philippines

Following the huge success of WPT National China Main Event at MGM Grand Sanya, where 882 players competed for their share of a nearly $1.4 million main event prize pool, World Poker Tour returned to the Philippines for the Season XIV WPT National Philippines festival at the luxurious Solaire Resort & Casino on January 2-8, 2016. For two consecutive years, Solaire played host to a $1,650 buy-in WPT National Main Event and a diverse selection of side events, including a $200,000 buy-in super-high roller, which is the largest buy-in tournament held in World Poker Tour history.

“We at Poker King Club always aim to push the boundaries of poker, which led to us being named the Home of the World’s Biggest Game,” shared President and CEO of Poker King Club, Winfred Yu.

The endless fun begins at the poolside bar of the Solaire Resort & Casino.

To jump-start the WPT National Philippines festival, WPT National Philippines organisers gathered the participants to a Players’ Party at the Solaire Resort & Casino poolside bar, where bottomless drinks and endless fun flowed. The poolside bar was on fire with the skilful fire dancing and the tribal numbers of the Emerald Dancers. The Aerial Silk Dancers owned the moment with their breath-stopping and fluid performances.

Do you think the party was all about the players and their quest to be the best poker player? You could be wrong. Because the poolside party thrived not only with the wealthy and the millionaires but also with the jaw-dropping ladies! And as the night went on, everyone got so hyped up with the flaming hot performance of the Mocha Girls.

“We are looking forward to kicking off 2016 with the exciting WPT National Philippines Festival,” said Cyrus Sherafat, SVP of Casino Marketing for Solaire Resort and Casino.

“Last year, both local and international players showcased their skills at Solaire, and we are confident they will continue to demonstrate the very best in poker during Season XIV of the WPT. We also believe poker fans enjoy watching the world-class poker competition here at Solaire,” Sherafat added.

One good reason why WPT National made Philippines as one of the pitstops is that the country is one of the leading poker and resort destinations in the Asia-Pacific region, and it is a home to many professional and recreational poker players, including the WPT Champions Club™ member Noli Francisco.

It’s party time, but it looks like poker can’t wait…

And to give all players the best poker and vacation experience while in the country, WPT National partnered with Solaire Resort & Casino. Solaire Resort & Casino is the top of the line gaming destination in Manila and it lives up to its reputation with unparalleled hotel, entertainment and dining amenities. One can simply enjoy watching the beautiful Manila Bay sunset while having a champagne or a refreshing cocktail by the pool, or relax while having your favourite drink by the bar.

Outside of your hotel suite, xxperience a different kind royalty by the poolside.

“Having personally spent time at Solaire Resort & Casino, I am confident that all of the attendees will discover that it is one of the finest resort destinations in the world,” assured WPT President and CEO Adam Pliska.

World Poker Tour National Philippines was presented by Solaire Resort & Casino and Poker King Club; sponsored by Triton Poker and Calistar 88.
