With barely two weeks to go, how far have you gone with your training?

I must say that I have always been the number 1 supporter of Pinoyfitness, and that dates back to March 2011, when I did my first 3k fun run. Being a newbie then, I don’t know anyone in the running community except my associates whom I am working with.

Browsing for possible fun runs, I came across the site pinoyfitness.com, and that’s how it all started. I got to meet fellow runners like Ms Mars (do I need to make further introduction?), Gumiho Runner (aka Jobz), Bingski, and Papa Yingski. Almost everyday, you will see our comments in practically every post in the site. Then, Ms Mars arranged a meet up with Pinoyfitness himself, Jeff Lo, at Teriyaki Boy in SM Megamall one weekend afternoon. Suggestions came up like Team Pinoyfitness, having a singlet, etc etc. And I’m glad that singlet part became a reality. And so is the Team Pinoyfitness (triathlon team).

Months ago, Pinoyfitness came up with its first ever sponsored fun run, Pinoyfitness Run for Change. Also, there were organised LSDs on certain Sundays. It was a gathering of runners in their favorite Pinoyfitness singlet or shirt.

And in the tradition of Pinoyfitness fun run, this time, there’s an added twist. Yeah, and that is to beat 10K in an hour or less. There are three categories which you can choose from:

  1. Reebok One Wave: Race pace is 5 min/km or less
  2. Enervon Activ Wave: Race pace is 5 to 5:30 min/km
  3. Enervon HP Wave: Race pace is 5:30 min/km

The slowest pace that you can have is 6 min/km to hit the Sub1 for this race. But if you can’t beat that pace, it doesn’t mean you can no longer join. This is one race where your running skills are to be challenged.

Since the event was announced, to help the runners achieve their target PRs, Pinoyfitness partnered with running and lifestyle coach Mitch Estuar to design a training program. I’m quite certain that you have prepped up for this race to beat the Sub1 challenge.

What’s in store if you make it in an hour less? You get a specially designed Finisher’s Medal, and it’s something you will truly deserve for doing your best.

Also, for having registered for the race, you can get a Nathan Speed2 Fuel belt for half its original price only at ROX High Street. Just present your race bib to avail of the discount.

Haven’t registered yet? Registration is extended until September 15, 2013, or until supplies last. Registration fee is Php700.00. Rush to the following registration sites:

  • Pep Squad Events Office, Makati (Second Floor, Raha Sulayman Building, 108 Benavidez St. Legaspi Village, Makati City)
  • Reebok Trinoma, Megamall or Festival Mall
  • Fitness & Athletics, BGC

Block off your calendar. That’s September 22, 2013. Wave one gun start is 5:30am. Be there at your earliest.

Keep on with your training. See you on race day!
