After a While

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn’t mean possession, and company doesn’t mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts and presents aren’t promises
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child. And you learn to build your roads today because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans
And futures have ways of falling down in mid – flight.

After a while, you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much so you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure, that you really are strong.
And you really do have worth.
And you learn
And you learn.

We try to live our life the best way we can – to be happy, and to be able to smile despite the challenges the come our way.  We live through failed relationships, pick up the broken pieces of our emotion and start moving on. We make plans for our future, hoping that each tomorrow we wake up to brings us good hopes and aspirations to keep us going day after day.

Let’s learn from every mistake and try not to commit the same mistake again. May our experiences teach us life’s valuable lessons to guide us in making sound decisions.

Let’s not be discouraged whenever we fail. But rather, let the failures be our springboard to bounce back anew to reach for our dreams.

Believe that you can. And pray that God will give you the strength you need to make your dreams come true.
